Workshops for Eating Disorders

Me and my body

Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is a gentle, supportive practice designed to help individuals reconnect with their bodies in a compassionate and non-judgmental way. By using props like bolsters, blankets, and blocks, each posture is held for an extended period, allowing the body to release tension and stress while promoting deep relaxation. This practice emphasizes stillness and mindful breathing, which can be especially beneficial for individuals recovering from eating disorders, as it encourages body awareness and acceptance in a safe, nurturing environment.

Restorative Yoga is ideal for those seeking to heal physically and emotionally, offering a space to reconnect with the body without the pressure of performance or expectations. The practice helps calm the nervous system, reduce anxiety, and foster a sense of self-compassion, making it a valuable tool for those navigating the complexities of disordered eating.

Through gentle movement and mindful rest, participants can begin to rebuild a more positive, loving relationship with their bodies.

Pottery workshops and Art therapy

Our Therapeutic and Mindful Pottery Workshops are a space where creativity meets healing. Our sessions are designed to help you reconnect with yourself through the art of pottery, offering a calming and immersive experience that promotes relaxation, self-expression, and mindfulness. Whether you’re shaping clay for the first time or are a seasoned artist, our workshops provide a supportive environment for participants to explore the therapeutic benefits of tactile creativity.

Guided by a ceramist and co-designed by our team of therapists, each session encourages mindfulness through hands-on techniques, allowing you to slow down, focus on the present moment, and release stress. The gentle rhythm of working with clay fosters a deep sense of inner peace, making these workshops perfect for anyone seeking a creative escape or emotional balance. Therapeutic theater

Therapeutic theater for eating disorders is a form of creative therapy that uses theatrical techniques to help individuals explore and express their emotions related to food, body image, and self-esteem. Through role-playing, improvisation, and body expression, participants can connect with their feelings in a safe and controlled environment. This approach fosters self-understanding and the processing of difficult experiences, facilitating the release of repressed emotions and promoting greater awareness of internal thought and behavior patterns.

This type of therapy is especially beneficial for those facing eating disorders, as it provides a space to symbolically express the internal struggles that accompany these conditions. Therapeutic theater not only encourages creativity and self-expression but also facilitates the development of coping skills, personal empowerment, and a deeper connection with oneself and others.

It is a powerful tool for exploring complex emotions and initiating a process of emotional and psychological healing.

Mindfulness workshops

Our mindfulness group sessions provide a supportive and peaceful environment to cultivate mindfulness practices, enhancing your mental and emotional well-being. Led by experienced mindfulness practitioners, these sessions focus on teaching techniques to increase present-moment awareness. Key mindfulness skills covered include acting with awareness, non-judging and non-reactivity to inner experiences, and observing and describing both internal and external experiences.

Through guided meditations, breathing exercises, and mindful movement, you will develop a greater sense of inner calm and resilience. These sessions also offer the opportunity to share experiences and support each other in your mindfulness journeys, fostering a sense of community.

Book and Film club

The Book and Film Club aims to explore a wide range of themes—self-discovery, resilience, relationships, and mental health. Alternating weekly between book and film discussions, we’ll take a month to read and reflect on a selected book, diving deep into its themes and characters.

For the film club, we’ll explore a new theme or genre, using carefully chosen films to spark conversations.

Whether you’re a reader or passionate about movies, this club offers a space to connect, share, grow, and deepen your understanding of yourself.

Mindful eating and nutrition workshops

In our Mindful Eating Workshops we invite you to transform your relationship with food through the practice of mindfulness. In these sessions, you’ll learn to slow down, fully engage your senses, and develop a deeper awareness of your eating habits. By focusing on the present moment, you’ll discover how to listen to your body’s hunger and fullness cues, savor each bite, and cultivate a more balanced, healthy relationship with food.

Our workshops provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment where participants explore mindful eating techniques, gain practical tools for daily life, and reconnect with the pleasure of nourishing the body. Whether you’re looking to improve your overall well-being, reduce stress around food, or simply enjoy eating in a more intentional way, our workshops offer a path toward a more conscious and fulfilling way of eating.

Nutritional workshops, on the other hand, offer a holistic approach to improving your well-being through mindful and balanced eating. In each session, you’ll learn the fundamentals of healthy nutrition, how to choose foods that support your energy and health, and how to develop sustainable habits that fit your lifestyle. With expert guidance, you’ll discover practical tools to enhance your daily routines and achieve greater physical and emotional well-being, all in a supportive and educational environment.

Creative writing and journaling

Cultivate a supportive writing practice that can aid your recovery journey, even if you’ve never journaled before. Whether you’re interested in storytelling, personal reflection, or simply journaling to process daily thoughts and emotions, these workshops offer a safe and encouraging environment tailored to support individuals facing eating disorders. You’ll gain valuable insights into using narrative as a tool for healing, along with practical advice, exercises, and techniques designed to build your confidence and deepen your self-understanding through the written word.

Open House Week Activities November-December 2025

Want to try the activities for free before signing up?

At Clínica ART, we know that recovery from an eating disorder (ED) – and from emotional struggles in general – cannot rely solely on words. That is why, alongside individual psychotherapy, we offer a set of therapeutic activities designed to complement talk therapy with practical, creative, and embodied experiences.

These activities are built on an integrative approach: they help unlock aspects that are often difficult to access through conversation alone, while providing a safe space to do, experience, and learn new ways of expressing yourself, relating to others, and caring for your body and mind.

At the same time we are aware it might be hard to commit without understanding and experiencing what they are really about. This is why we offer you to sign up for free to experience a sample of these activities and decide if it is a good option for you to commit long term and start your healing.

WHAT WE WILL DO ON THE OPEN DAY WORKSHOP

Duration: 45 minutes

  • 15 minutes to explain how the workshops work, their objectives, focus, and methodology.
  • 30 minutes of a hands-on practical workshop in a showcooking format.

INTRODUCTORY PART (15 minutes)

Who the workshop is for:
These workshops are aimed at people who want to build a friendly relationship with food and wish to learn how to work with it in an easy and appealing way.

What participants will learn:
The purposes of the therapeutic cooking workshops are:

  • To acquire basic skills to create nutritionally complete dishes, adapted to individual needs and sensorially attractive.
  • To approach basic food groups in an integral way—from choosing them at the store, to preparing them in the kitchen, and enjoying them at the table.

At the end, there will be a tasting of the prepared dish.

How the workshops are conducted:
In sessions that include group shopping, participants will visit nearby stores, where they will learn to choose seasonal and versatile foods.
In the kitchen, they will discover different ways to prepare foods to create simple yet complete dishes.
Cooking activities are done in groups, guided and supervised by the therapeutic cook. Once everything is ready, participants enjoy the meal together, reflecting on what they have learned and sharing the experience.

SHOWCOOKING PART

A selection of ingredients will be presented, with which we will prepare a nutritionally complete dish that includes all the basic food groups.
We will explain the role of each ingredient in the dish and discuss ways to cook them so they are more appealing and easier to digest.
Alternative options will be provided to adapt the dish to specific needs.

At the end, there will be a tasting of the prepared dish.

Me and my body program

Pilates Session

10 min Theory / 20 min Practice

In this theoretical–practical session, we will explain how the principles of the Pilates method —breathing, concentration, control, center, precision, and flow— enhance body awareness, mental well-being, and physical health.

We will discuss who the workshop is intended for, including people with eating disorders (EDs) or difficulties performing physical activity, as well as the indications and benefits of this practice.

We will then move on to a short practical session, so we invite you to come wearing comfortable clothing. Through gentle and mindful movements, you will experience how Pilates helps to reconnect with the body, reduce stress, improve posture, prevent injuries, and alleviate joint or muscular discomfort, promoting a more balanced and healthy relationship with yourself.

Nutrition workshops

The nutrition workshops are designed for people who are tired of food being the enemy.
Here we don’t talk about diets; we talk about learning to trust yourself again around food and reconnecting with it as an ally.

We will practise mindful eating techniques, debunk nutrition myths, help you create a realistic weekly meal plan (without falling into control and rigidity), and reconnect with your hunger and fullness cues… among many other tools.

A space to make peace with food and understand your needs without fear or guilt.
